180: Prevention Through Art
Join the Philadelphia Anti-Trafficking Coalition for a workshop to help fight human trafficking in our region.
Did you know that over 200,000 children are at risk for sex trafficking and commercial exploitation in the United States every year. Prevention of human trafficking among young people is crucial, but often difficult because of hesitancy around the graphic nature of the material.
During this workshop, Nola Theiss, Executive Director of Human Trafficking Awareness Partnerships, Inc., will discuss two programs designed to build awareness of human trafficking among middle school through college age students and subsequently express that knowledge through art. The programsusing painting and theatre will be described and participants will learn how to adapt theseprogramsas well as expandthem to other forms of art.
The event is FREE, but registration is required. Light refreshments will be served.
